The 2026-2027 season at Pila

According to Pila’s official calendar, the ski season runs from Saturday 28 November 2026 to Sunday 11 April 2027, snow permitting.

The Aosta-Pila and Pila-Stella cable cars run until Sunday 2 May 2027.

Aosta town centre in 5 minutes

The old town, with the Arch of Augustus and the Roman Theatre, is 5-6 minutes away by car. After skiing you can drive down for a walk or dinner, then be back in the quiet of the hillside in a few minutes.

For a change of ski area, you can also reach Courmayeur (40 min), La Thuile (50 min) and Breuil-Cervinia (about 1 hour) for the day.

Winter questions

Do I need a car?

Yes, it is the easiest way: the Aosta-Pila cable car and Aosta town centre are about 5 minutes away. Parking at the cable car is free, and at the house you have a covered private parking space.

Is the road cleared when it snows?

Yes, we always clear the road to the house of snow ourselves.

Are winter tyres required?

Throughout the Aosta Valley, from 15 October to 15 April, winter tyres or snow chains on board are mandatory.

Where can I leave skis and boots?

In the Casa Bioula ski storage, included in your stay at no extra cost.

When does the Pila season open?

For the 2026-2027 season, Pila’s official calendar gives Saturday 28 November 2026 as the opening and Sunday 11 April 2027 as the closing, snow permitting. The Aosta-Pila and Pila-Stella cable cars run until 2 May 2027.

Can I ski elsewhere too?

Yes: from Casa Bioula you can reach Courmayeur (40 min), La Thuile (50 min) and Breuil-Cervinia (about 1 hour) for the day.
